Höegh has been a well recognised name in the international shipping industry since Leif Høegh & Co (LHC) was founded by Leif Höegh (1896-1974) in 1927.  By 1939, LHC managed a fleet of 13 ships.

Managed by the founder's sons Ove and Westye from the 1960's to the 1990's, LHC has been involved in most segments of the shipping industry over its history.

In 2003, the third family generation took over control of the Company and LHC was privatised and delisted.  A private company since then, LHC is active in vehicle logistics through Höegh Autoliners and gas transportation through Höegh LNG.

The four grandsons of Leif Høegh currently make up the family partner group of Höegh Capital Partners.
